Fleurie Domaine Jean Foillard 2020
The plot called Corcelette, located in the Morgon appellation, is rather famous among Beaujolais enthousiasts. Its soil is essentially made up of granite, which brings wines an interesting minerality. Vinifications by Jean Foillard are generally full of delicacy. As with Burgundy Pinots, his wine tastes very marked red berries flavours. The wine’s minerality and tannins, combined with an interesting acidity, ensure its storage capacity.
Before thinking almost impulsively that this taste can only be that of a Burgundy wine, it is interesting to check that such a delicacy does not come from elsewhere, i.e. from a land of peace where even austerity is afraid of showing up, as we have already noticed tasting some Côtes de Nuits wines. Over the last years, Beaujolais winemakers have had a duty to try all means to produce silky, full-rounded and fruity wines. Some biggest names of the Côtes d'Or area can now be afraid to fade! Morgon "Cuvée Corcelette" by Domaine Jean Foillard has come! And it wil shake everything up!
