Saint Julien 

The appellation has been recognised since 1936 and is spread over the towns of Saint-Julien-Beychevelle, Cussac-Fort-Médoc and Saint-Laurent-Médoc. 2,273 acres of vines lay on bank gravel and are composed of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc, carménère, côt and petit verdot to produce around 41,000 hectolitres per year.
