Saint Estèphe 

Vines have grown on bank gravel since Middle-Ages and are cultivated on a 3,000-acre surface. Around 54,000 hectolitres are produced each year and the main two grape varieties are merlot and cabernet-sauvignon. The AOC has been recognised since 1936 and gathers today 136 winemakers.
